European businesses could be cleared to use a single, region-wide, phone number under proposals unveiled by the
EC yesterday. The Commission is assessing the benefits of the plan, which is in-line with Digital Agenda goals covering
cross-border sales.
Qualcomm has elected Francisco Ros, a former
Secretary of State for telecoms in Spain with 25 years industry experience, to its board of directors.
Cisco and
BMC Software yesterday launched an integrated cloud platform as the
first step in a partnership to develop large-scale, multi-tenant, cloud computing services.
Sweden's
TeliaSonera will spend 1.1 billion kronor (€120 million) to
increase its stake in
TeliaSonera Asia Holding - owner of Ncell in Nepal and Applifone in Cambodia - to 75.45% from 51%.
UK regulator
Ofcom must introduce policies allowing consumers to quickly change
bundled services within five years, to preserve fairness in the market, the
Communications Consumer Panel says.
