The first products conforming to the G.hn standard for
wired home networking will launch in 2011, Chano Gomez -head of marketing for the
Home Grid Forum -predicts.
Managed services firm
Azzurri Communications has won a three-year, £5 million (€5.7 million), unified communications contract from facilities firm
OCS. The deal covers integration of existing
WAN and LAN networks into a centralized VoIP network.
Mobile phone sales in China grew 57% to 246 million units in 2010, due to the popularity of
Internet and television enabled devices, the
Times of India reports citing
Analysys International research.
Demand for tablet PCs fuelled a 19% rise in global PC sales to 105.8 million units in 4Q10, according to
Canalys figures. While HP remained top of the list with 18.7 million units shipped,
Apple’s sales leapt 241% to 11.5 million units, due mostly to shipments of the iPad.
