The
Batelco Group has agreed to sell 11% of its stake in BMIC, owner of a 49% stake in Indian cellco
S-Tel, to Bahrain-based investment bank Global Banking for an undisclosed
sum.
Singtel is reportedly planning to
float 25% of its Australian unit Optus, which could raise A$4 billion (€2.5 billion) to fund the firm’s regional M&A plans.
The ITU is allocating more than $1m (€693,000) to strengthen the disaster response effort in Haiti. 40 satellite terminals are being deployed immediately and a further 60 broadband-capable units are being dispatched along with experts to operate them.
Belgacom International Carrier Services (BICS) has contracted Teradata to supply its data warehouse platform and system management and disaster recovery suite.
