A renewed deal between Telefonica and African pay-TV firm Multichoice will allow the operator to offer HD programming and extend its reach across the continent.

Orange and Sony Ericsson have teamed to offer exclusive online music services, through an Android application and dedicated Facebook pages.

Net income at Deutsche Telekom subsidiary Slovak Telekom fell nearly 30% year-on-year to €27.1 million in 1Q11, as higher regulatory costs pushed revenues down 7.1%.
