Global mobile voice and data traffic is set to hit 127 Exabytes in 2020 – 33 times higher than in 2010, the
UMTS Forum predicts. The strongest growth will
occur in Western Europe, with a typical 67 times increase to 12,540 Terabytes per country.

Chiltern Railways claims a new m-ticketing application is the
first in the country to work on feature phones as well as smartphones. The free service, launched yesterday [Weds] allows customers to buy and validate tickets.
Navmii, a UK-based mobile navigation and location app publisher, has signed up two million users to a live GPS mapping service in the space of a year. The firm says 15,000 new customers sign up each day, and that it has provided 300,000 map updates to date.
Nokia has tailored its Ovi Store apps outlet for
France Telecom and
Deutsche Telekom. The branded channel allows the carriers to create their own applications and services for the store, which is now racking up
downloads of five million apps per day.
