ZTE will
purchase $3b worth of chips over the next three years from US vendors
Qualcomm,
TI,
Freescale Semiconductor,
Altera and
Broadcom.
Google has awarded $5m (€3.6 million) in
grants for online journalism, including $2m to the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, and $1m to the Knight News Challenge.
Zynga, the US developer of Farmville and other social networking games, is now
worth more than gaming giant Electronic Arts, hitting a market value of $5.51 billion (€3.9 billion).
After 31 years,
Sony will
cease production of the iconic
Walkman cassette player that paved the way for the iPod and other personal music devices.
